You – and your kids – will love this hummer of a book

The Adventures of Anna and Andy Hummingbird

Yes, I love hummingbirds. Linda and I are now up to about a couple dozen species, most of them seen in Texas and Arizona. We have only a single species in Maine, the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird.

So it won’t be a surprise when I tell you I also loved Linda P. Young’s children’s book, The Adventures of Anna and Andy Hummingbird – Anna and Andy meet the grandchildren. This is actually the third book in a series, so now I’ve got to get the first two books.

Linda was born in Iowa and now lives in Las Vegas where she owns a sign business. She says, “I wrote these books out of the enjoyment we would get watching the Hummingbirds in our back patio.” She dedicated the books to her five grandchildren “in hopes that they too will find enjoyment in the future from these marvelous little flyers.” I am sure they will Linda. And they will also find great enjoyment in reading their grandmother’s books! Just as I am enjoying reading the book to my 2-year-old granddaughter Ada.

Violeta Honasan’s illustrations in the book are wonderful too.

Anna and Andy are brother and sister Hummingbirds who befriend four little kids and enjoy some wonderful experiences with them, including a flying adventure with Zen, the dragon. You will love the illustrations of that adventure!
